"Every president is thin-skinned but I wonder whether this administration, this White House has a particular problem with criticism. … Not talking about just us but just the attitude of this White House. Whatever happened to reaching out to all Americans?"
ThinkProgress reminds us that his own network made the decision not to broadcast Obama's Speech to Congress on Health Care last week. In light of that many are led to think it is the Fox Network that doesn't hold the interest of reaching out to all Americans.
Within the video Obama is criticized for his many appearances, citing how many interviews he has been doing and that they exceeded interviews compared to Clinton and Bush. Yet, in the same video he is condemned for not making an appearance on the Sunday show. Maybe Obama would have considered an interview with Chris Wallace if his show didn't have dead last ratings of all other Sunday News Shows.
These are the released comments from the white house in regards to the decision:
We figured Fox would rather show "So You Think You Can Dance"
than broadcast an honest discussion about health insurance reform.
Fox is an ideological outlet where the president has been interviewed before and will likely be interviewed again;
not that their whining particularly strengthens their case for participation any time soon.
Although Wallace describes Obama's decline to appear as petty and childish, he does not account the plethora of insignificant accusations made by the network's own hosts and anchors. The White house has ample reason behind their comment. Jon Scott, Anchor on Fox, spins into his interviews that Obama is to blame for the Bush-induced recession, explaining:
"I mean, you know, it’s been pretty obvious since about September that he was going to win this presidency. It’s not like he hasn’t had some amount of time to gear up and get ready for the job he’s got."The President has also been labeled as a racist and compared to Hitler on the network from people like Hannity and Beck. With Beck's dipping loss of sponsors, that wasn't the only reaction to his consequential remarks and the significance of the channel's entirety.

If Obama is concerned about ratings, then I suppose he should appear on every other Fox news program since they trounce the competition in every other time slot. That is perhaps the weakest argument I have ever read. I agree with your contention that Fox dissed him so he dissed them, but the ratings argument was very weak. Regardless, I am weary of talking points on health care. My view is not changing, the Dems have the votes why do they need to continue the relentless propagandizing? Just pass the bill, own it, and take the fall-out. Perhaps, they realize what it will mean to their political futures when the American health care system is relegated to that of our Canadian brethren. Hrmmm...yeah on second thought they are wise to insist that the Republicans shoulder some of the inevitable blame.

Too bad you can't seem to think for yourself or are just too lazy to do the research to get the facts straight. It was said by a number of hosts and guests that Obama's reaction to the Professor Gates arrest could be seen as racist just as easily as seeing the arresting officer's actions as being racist. Anyone who starts off by stating that he dosn't know the facts of an incident and then immediately proceeds to pick sides at best can be classified as a fool. Hannity and Beck did not in fact compare Obama to Hitler but rather compared the direction that he was leading our economy would likely result in a similar economy to that in which Hitler rose to power. There is a big difference!

In regards to the ratings:
I did not say that Fox's ratings were low, but that Chris Wallace's were the lowest in comparison to all other Sunday news shows. If Obama appeared on Wallace's Show, which he would have that Sunday, then he would be aired on Fox's lowest rating bracket. Nowhere do I deny that Fox has high ratings, however, Chris Wallace's show is "lapped up" by the network.
Professor Gates Arrest:
In saying a police officer acted stupidly does not constitute anything racist. If Obama called a female officer stupid you would use that same logic to say he was sexist.
^"...compared the direction that he was leading our economy would likely result in a similar economy to that in which Hitler rose to power"^
Using Hitler in as an example to Obama's leading economy is COMPARING Obama to Hitler. Many of his major sponsors dropped out immediately afterward, and they are sourced in the last paragraph.
If you are going to tell me that I am lazy for sourcing my information you should consider whether you are prepared for any educational future.
