Here is a video that I have had to watch more than twice because of the tickling sarcasm. Whether you support the GLBT community or not, this one is a must see for everybody. It's not an LGBT issue, its a respect issue (plus a little passive aggression =) . This video made me suggest Ms. Addams even run for office. So if you like some sassy intellect and snark, you got it!
The American University of Beirut has come a long way. It was only in 1984 that former AUB president and political scientist Malcolm Kerr was assassinated near his office for not being aligned with the Muslim opposition during the civil war. Here is a video from Rita El-Haddad at the homosexuality conference straight out of the American University of Lebanon.
Betty Bowers is my new satirical hero. Imagine if Colbert ran a show that was focused on Christianity. Here Mrs. Bowers talks about traditional marriage. Its a true remedy for your godless funny bone.
Did you know 3.0 is a fast paced information spill consisting of high-tech, social and populous stats. Reminds me of the philosophical rant in The Waking Life where our zany old friend talks about the acceleration of revolutions within revolutions, including within the plane of technology. Fascinating.

Reverses and "Reverse Racism"
After the supreme court ruled in favor of the CT firefighters, its no shocker that Hannity, Limbaugh and Murdoch's "balanced" Fox crew are up to their fat necks in false rhetoric about Sotomayor's reversed decision as an appeals court judge.
One fox host invited Leslie Crocker Snyder to discuss Rush Limbaugh's comments of Sotomayor. The host argues to Snyder that when Sotomayor discussed her judgment as a Latino woman in comparison to a white male, by reversing the roles of said white male and Latino woman, the statement is racist. (Don't you adore that our fox anchor is making a right-leaning biased argument?) Watch.
Snyder says the statement is out of context. It is. To say the social impacts of being a woman, or a woman also of any different origin, is no different than an average white male is nominally arrogant. There are sums of evidence that show women alone still, in the year 2009, have lower wages than men. And even more evidence that African American and Latino families are more likely to experience crowded housing, food insecurity and unmet medical needs.
Is empathy not the last cognitive development of the mind? Do some people not even reach that point in their lifetime? College psych 101 - some don't. And I would bet a limb that a Latino woman from a housing project in the Bronx is more likely to have empathy and experience than an American Psycho from suburbia.
Another term bookmarked for the double-speak dictionary. I think the real epidemic here is reverse-thought. Leave it up to the right to spoon feed you nonsensical slogans like this one. Support the troops, war is peace, y'all. And horse shit is ice cream.
The city was concerned they would be sued for promoting the firefighters because there would, in turn, not be any black firefighters promoted at that time. The case initially states that the city "was simply trying to fulfill its obligations under Title VII [of the Civil Rights Act]..."-
And thank you mediamatters! for highlighting my point here:
Limbaugh comments, "Here you have a racist — you might want to soften that, and you might want to say a reverse racist...and the libs, of course, say that minorities cannot be racists because they don't have the power to implement their racism...Well those days are gone! Because reverse racists certainly do have the power... Obama is the greatest living example of a reverse racist, and now he's appointed one."If Sotomayor were on such a pedestal, would her reversal have even been possible? The "reverse-racists" don't have the power. Why? Because they don't exist. At least not by the definition of this case. So what is the major ethnicity that inhabits public office? Old Caucasian dudes.. alright, not the point... except white people can't be accused as reverse racists, which makes the term, uhm what do you call it? Yea, racist.

Reverse racism - "I'm shitting my pants because minorities want to have power I had for centuries to dominate them... and i don't want to lose it because it was given to me by a magic man in the sky. How dare they! "Maria" Sotomayor (Huckabee) should be a maid, not a judge following history". - youtube user freedomanddemocracy

Finally, reversals happen. Because Sotomayor was in perhaps the first case where someone going through the SCOTUS confirmation process was reversed, that probably drew a lot more attention to herself. Also her nomination proverbially giving conservatives a "conniption fit" (thanks, pickle).
On the one hand, the act says no employee may be discriminated against because of his or her race, sex, religion or national origin. On the other hand, the law also says an employer can be sued for using a hiring or promotional standard that has a "disparate impact on the basis of race," unless it can be defended as a "business necessity."- Story
And thank you mediamatters! for highlighting my point here:
"...Judges get reversed everyday. In fact, the system of American jurisprudence is built upon the idea of judges getting reversed. It happens all the time. And yes, the Supreme Court reverses judges all the time. But only now, in the case of Sotomayor, is the press pretending that that reversal is a singular rebuke; that it's a mark of shame for Sotomayor because she got the case wrong...
But what about the four Supreme Court justices who ruled in favor of Sotomayor's Ricci's ruling, should they also be embarrassed because they got the case 'wrong'? Should we question their qualifications for the highest court in the country?" - http://mediamatters.org/blog/200906290010

Awake?
Another sigh escaped my throat in the clinic's waiting room. I looked down at my watch and realized I had been there four hours consumed by the ultimate question.
Am I pregnant?... If I am should I get that abortion thing?...and who is this fuggin' guy?
The man was an Aryan's wet dream in white scrubs. His blond hair swayed in the non-existent breeze as he seemingly drifted toward my chair with an outreached hand. In that hand was a book, no wait, a magazine. A magazine about abortion, one degree from God himself! The filmy sheets slid between my fingers and then finally it was in my confused, post-pubescent grip.
I AM SAVED!
The wistful man nodded down at me with a grand smile. I smiled back, flashing my super-awesome neon pink braces. Then, he spoke.
"One last thing," his voice boomed.
Another man in blue scrubs walked into the waiting room. The angel reached into his pocket, found an m9 pistol and shot him straight in the ear...
And YES, the ear! You know why? Because who bloody shoots someone in the ear?! Nobody, that's who. Nobody but Aryan, pro-life, magazine delivering angels with M9's.
No, Watchtower didn't shoot Dr. Tiller with their blue-eyed henchmen. And I will say, although it is not very often, there are a few things that Jehovah's witnesses understand that I appreciate. Things which are mostly apart from other denominations. For example they consider that maybe an entire planet wasn't made in under a week. Or that maybe anthropologists didn't throw years of study away on carbon dating.
Then all that is quickly forgotten because reading one of their magazines has forced me to gank my cerebrum with a pen.
The title of the first of 4 articles reads,
It continues:

So essentially you are not thinking straight when you decide to have an abortion. No, it doesn't matter that your uncle decided on your twelfth birthday that your mouth was "perty" when you were blowing out the candles. And if your baby is born, in the process annihilating you from the inside and killing you, you should probably try and think before having it aborted. Oh, even if it dies too, like the leeching symbiote it is.
At what point does Dr. Priscilla mention why or when a woman would lose her cognitive abilities? Not once. Must be when Satan flicks you from pregnant mode to "auto-blend".
Under the title: The miracle of conception... Here a Dr.David Fu-Chi Mark says,
The earliest point in which a zygote can split to make twins is two days after conception although it is usually around eight days. Then who is the twin that gets the soul? You could see which one floats at their baptism and have that one chained in your cellar like a REAL Christian family, but I guess the convenient baseless hope that is faith will suffice.
Awake? Why yes, maybe you should do that so you no longer write articles that make me digitally regurgitate on the inter-webs.

The title of the first of 4 articles reads,
"Abortion: Not a trouble-free solution."ORLY? Because I always thought that after a woman has an abortion, later that night the abortion fairy visits you. She'll float over you with her mutated stem cell zombie wings and wave her fairy syringe-shaped wand at you so all your problems will turn into petri dish residual fairy dust.
It continues:
Bill had grown up to believe that abortion was a serious sin, tantamount to murder. But his firm, decades-long stand softened in 1975 when this issue became personal. His girlfriend, Victoria, became pregnant, and Bill could not face the commitment of marriage and parenthood. "I quickly opted for the convenient solution," admitted Bill, "and told Victoria that she had to have an abortion."According to this it's as though it was a one sided decision, that Victoria was TOLD to have her abortion. And convenient for you, perhaps, Billy! Victoria's going under with blah-milligrams of anesthesia in her system and your drinking "Shatty" ice on your couch thinking about how you got the "easy" way out? And it's not like Victoria pulled five hundred bucks out of her maternity pocket for the procedure. I hear ::shifty eyes:: that on the black market that's worth, well... a baby.
Quoted within:
A 2006 study reviewed the life history of scores of women who became pregnant as teenagers...The study concluded that "childbirth was associated with a lower likelihood of receiving psychological counseling services, less frequent sleep problems, and a lower probability of smoking marijuana when compared to abortion." - Journal of Youth and AdolescenceLogical fallacy (the shock is overwhelming). I would say I was enlightened but I haven't had enough abortions to get me high enough.
LULZ.
Dr. Priscilla Coleman, an expert(?) on mental-health risks of abortion, says in the article that after the abortion is over, " women's cognitive abilities return to normal..."

Under the title: The miracle of conception... Here a Dr.David Fu-Chi Mark says,
"There can no longer be any doubt that each human being is totally unique from the very beginning of his or her life at fertilization."Dr. Mark is right. We are all unique at conception. Unique but not viable. Even twins have unique DNA but that doesn't prove life begins at conception. Twins disprove that.
The earliest point in which a zygote can split to make twins is two days after conception although it is usually around eight days. Then who is the twin that gets the soul?
